TIPS FOR BUYING A WEDDING GOWN
Getting married is very exciting and (hopefully) a once in a lifetime experience. However, in the heat of the fabric, many brides to be can get carried away in romance and not stop to realistically think through their wedding dress choices. Here are five tips to remember in between romantic flushes and family thrills on buying your wedding dress.1.Demand Satisfaction Any bridal store or business will willingly disclose information on their merchandise. Ask for the manufacturer and designer. Furthermore, under federal law it is mandatory to have sample wedding gowns properly labeled. The label readings will list fiber content, country or origin, how to care for the gown, registered number or the retailer's name. If this is not the case, then be smile and be on your way to shop elsewhere. 2.Get A Few Different Opinions Bring your entire cabinet of expert opinions-mothers, friends, in laws, sisters, whoever--when you go shopping. Between your friends and family and the professional opinion of a bridal consultant, you will come to a balanced decision. However, don't buy a dress just based on family opinion alone. The idea is to get a variety of opinions, then sit back a while and think it over in private. It is your dress and your moment in the sun, so never buy in haste. 3.Don't Rush Into A Commitment Still talking about dresses here. Don't buy too early just because you can. Unless a dress is going to be discontinued, then simply waiting it out might be the wisest choice. This will give you time to think your selections over and research many other dresses that might suit you. Start a catalog of dresses, with pictures and important details, and then make the final selection within reasonable distance from the wedding-4-10 months depending on any custom designing. 4.Be Realistic So you thought you were going to find "The One" but ended up settling for something just cute. Still talking about the dress here. Sometimes brides have the perfect image of a dress in mind and yet never seem to find it. Instead they may find a few different dresses they like and yet aren't perfect. A good word of advice if you can't seem to decide on a dress, is to give more attention to the overall theme of the wedding. Choose a dress that will go along with your wedding theme and make the dress merely a complement of the entire affair, rather than a scene-stealer. 5.Pay By Credit Card Don't pay by cash or check. Sure, you can afford it-but it's a high risk. Some online bridal stores are scam operations and only need to fool a few customers to make off with a profit. Even if the company is legitimate, there is no safety when purchasing by check, Western Union or bank wiring. Buying by credit card entitles you to fraud protection and a federal law protection that says a buyer must be completely satisfied with their purchase or be entitled to a return and refund. This protects you against shoddy quality, damaged merchandise and any disreputable company. Think practical and always plan ahead. |
